Home is not down under, like it's now in Notes 8 Beta 2. Home is in a convenient place where it's easy and fast to find. Instead of having the Home page as a tab, why not have it as an obvious Home (=House) looking icon in the icon bar like all browsers have?
If Home was a tab, it should be always in the beginning (left of all other tabs), but since it shouldn't be a tab, but an icon, it's still there, left of all other tabs, not more, not less.
It doesn't matter if Home is already opened. When you click Home you are back Home. It's a static icon - it doesn't open or close, when you click Home you see the Home Page, when you click something else you don't see the Home Page. It's also not needed in the thumbnail browser, since you know where Home is.
How about also having the Home key opening the Home icon: Ctrl-Shift-Home for example?
